Roc Nation Sports has a long way to go before establishing itself is a major player in the boxing business, but loading up with star talent certainly helps the building process. Beginning with its world-famous owner—hip-hop artist and music mogul Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter)—Roc Nation announced its arrival in 2014, unexpectedly showing up to win a purse bid for a middleweight fight between Peter Quillin and Matt Korobov.
The fight never happened, but Roc Nation was serious about digging in deep in the fight business. The New York-based company made its official promotional debut this past January, with its throne boxing series debuting on Fox Sports 1.
