Comments Thread For: David Price Not Impressed, Confident of Beating Wilder

Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33KOs) knocked Eric Molina out after nine rounds in Alabama to retain the WBC world heavyweight championship. The 239-pound Texan had already been knocked down on three occasions but managed to get up every time before Wilder delivered the final big blow with 1:03 left in the ninth.

Tuscaloosa-native Wilder, 29, was defending the belt he won from Bermane Stiverne in January in what was the first-ever world championship fight in his home state of Alabama.

David Price, who like Wilder won an Olympic bronze medal, was unimpressed by the WBC champion's victory. Price will go for the European championship when he takes on Erkan Teper in Germany on July 17.

Price should be the last to talk with his glass chin. Maybe he should be next in line so Wilder can shatter it for the 3rd time in his pro career.

Difference is that it seems like Wilder would be able to handle Price's power than Price would be able to handle Wilder's power. Deontay landing a good shot likely puts Price out.

Agreed. After seeing Wilder last night, this fight actually interests me now.

This fight is literally 'whoever lands first'.

Both have big power, both have poor chins....whoever lands the first shot on the button takes it.

Price only top opponent was Tony Thompson and he lost twice by knockout.......that says it all. He should first fight decent opponents and then ask for a title fight.....

Well, here is one guy I'm confident Wilder can beat.

I don't know what the hell he's going to do about Povetkin though. He's hellbent on winning a title so I just don't see him stepping aside for any money. Wilder may have to drop his title. Which will be ok once Haymon creates his own belt and Wilder will be PBC Heavyweight champion of the world.
