  • Comments Thread For: HBO's Nelson on The Cotto/Canelo/Golovkin Triangle

New York - HBO at the moment has three of boxing’s biggest stars campaigning at or around the same weight class. Miguel Cotto is the lineal middleweight champion, but many recognize Gennady "GGG" Golovkin as the best fighter in the very same division. Then there’s the popular young Mexican in Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who had his last three fights at 155-pounds, which is technically the middleweight division. All three fighters draw at the box office and draw on television.

Feed Cotto to Alvarez, to fatten him up to feed to Golovkin in a year or two.

HBO should start refusing licensing fees if these guys don't fight one another. All three are on the same network, there is no reason for these fights not to happen.

HBO can't make a big fight! They will probably have Geale fight Canelo, LOL. HBO has become a joke. Nothing but 20-1 fights.

You really want to say that about HBO with what's going on across the street? Look at the odds on Wilder-Molina, Lara-Rodriguez, Guerrero-Martinez, Cuellar-Darchinyan, Thurman-Collazo. Khan was 16-1 favorite for Algieri. Porter-Broner would've been a tight fight, but Al insists on draining Porter. They moved Peterson up in weight to give Danny an advantage. Yeah HBO's a joke and PBC is full legit.

Hbo has like 2 shows a month and the same amount of mismatches lol. Broner is the underdog

PBC has 3x the budget that HBO has for this year, for more money I would expect more quality. Greenburg & Davis were ran off HBO for allowing Haymon to milk them with expensive one-sided fights that didn't necessarily draw big ratings.
