    What did you learn tonight?

3 big fights tonight, and what did you learn? Ill start...
1.Wilder has little to no defence, has about 3 punches (jab, left hook, straight right),and might be packing glass. Id honestly favor fury, povetkin, and wlad over him, after what i saw tonight.
2.Verdejo might just be the complete package, but ill hold my opinion on him until he gets in there with a guy who can crack. Other than that,it was a really impressive performance, and hes got an impressive left hand.
3.Walters is a beast at 126 (even though he weighed 127 and lost his belt),and he might not find trouble until he moves up to 135. I was impressed by the variety of his punches, and his overall ring iq,especially being in there against a guy who can crack. Before this fight,i thought that walters-lomanchenko was a 50-50 fight, but im starting to favor walters 60-40 due to the size, power difference, and the fact that walters might be able to take lomas best shots, and actually take him into deep waters and stop him.

If Walters might have trouble at 135 then just stay at 130. Everybody thinks fighters just grow and grow and grow. Pryor fought at 140 his whole career. Hagler and Monzon fought at 160 their whole careers. Bob Foster fought at 175 his whole career. Lots of guys are full grown at 18 or 19 or 20 years old and they never get any bigger or heavier unless they get fat. Everybody Wilder ever fought until he won a title was ranked below 30 by Boxrec. He promised to defend his title often against the best and then hand picked a guy that can't fight at all. Molina wouldn't last one round in the ring with Wlad. He wouldn't last two rounds against Fury. Wilder is just a pretty good fighter. He will never be better than the 5th best heavyweight in the world if even that good.

Walters is big at 126 but weight aside, he has another level to him that only elite level guys have. It's evident that Walters plans to go up in weight and I think he will dominate there as well.

Marriaga is a great boxer, he just couldn't deal with the size, power, and ring IQ of Walters tonight. He'll be a monster against anyone else at that weight IMO, dude is solid top 3 material no doubt.

          1. Wilder made my day. I was having trouble breathing laughing at him getting booty dewed by Eric "The Little Drummer Boy" Molina.
THIS was going to be the new champ, then again not that he would be much worse. I called Molina KO so this makes it even more hilarious.
          2. Verdejo- No P4P for you. Stiff, slow, throwing slow ass wind up shots, very unprofessional the way he turned into an mma fighter winging hooks when he hurt Najera, no dexterity at all.
          3. Walters- lol

This was supposed to be a showcase of 3 of the top talents in the sport.
          I didn't see it.

            1. I like what I see from "Sniper" Pedraza. Fights well from long range but can also **** on the inside and he knows how to attack the body. Smart puncher with a good skill set.

            2. Deontay was very disappointing. Lacked variety in his punches, pulled straight back from punches, started throwing wide haymakers when the going got tough. Needs a lot of work. Sadly he's a world champion now so he won't be able to pick the right opponents to continue his development. All that being said I still think he could beat Tyson Fury.

            3. The Axe Man is strong as hell for the 126 weight class and he has some science to his game as well. Very tough combination to beat. I'd pick him to win over Lomachenko but can he even make 126 anymore?

              1. Wilder would have been a great champion in the domestic heavyweight era but the bar has risen dramatically since then. You can't just outbox drunken barroom brawlers like Joe Frazier and be called a professional boxer for it anymore, you have to actually have some skill nowadays.

                    - Pedraza is overrated, won't make it far.

                    - Verdejo needs to retreat less, still exciting and courageous enough. Can't stay that open with his looping shots against heavy hitters, needs to correct that. Needs to also avoid becoming a coward like Kneeguel.

                    - Walters is not that special.

                    - Wilder is intriguingly vulnerable, which makes him a more exciting HW champion. Very dangerous, gets the job done in statement fashion but leaves the possibilities open as far as opportunities are concerned for his opponents.

                    - Molina was not just talk, a lot of respect to the guy. He did exactly what he said he would. Huge heart, a real man. Fought bravely within his limitations not just talent wise but physically speaking (height/reach) as well. I respect him.
