  • Comments Thread For: Robert Helenius Drills Lobjanidze in Three Rounds

The main event of a tiny promotion by Kalle Keskinen at Vaasa Arena in the naval city of Vaasa, Finland, featured not a not so tiny name. Finnish heavyweight prodigy and one-time top-ten contender Robert Helenius fought for the second time in over two years and easily knocked out Georgian no-hoper Beka Lobjanidze (12-3, 10 KOs) in the third round. Time was 1:47. Helenius, whose legal status is a subject of conflict between his team and Sauerland Event, improves to 21-0, with 13 KOs.

Helenius gonna make a name facing scrubs or he gonna step up and prove his power ain't his only attribute, he looked shook versus Chisora, time to build real momentum.

He's coming off a bad injury and long legal dispute with his promoter which supposedly left him bankrupt. Realistically I'd say it's a while before he has a truly big fight, unless he lucks out and gets picked up by a major "advisor" who is in desperate need of heavyweights.

        Ring up Al Haymon bro!!

Helenius should fight Chisora next. They have some unfinished business and Helenius would get the rounds and exposure he needs.

I'm thinking Helenius had stamina issues before his lay off, I wonder has he addressed this. Against Chisora he appeared unready for 12 rounds of competitive action, although irking the decision he did not appear convincing in the slightest.

His voice after his injury is awesome.

This is a little rough on the guy. As someone else has said, already, Helenius has been out of the ring for some time for a combination of reasons - he can be forgiven for taking some warm up bouts.

At the moment, it's just great to have him back on the scene.

I agree solid heavyweights are hard to find. Having another name to mix it up with other top 15 guys is always good.

Yeh ok I agree. Maybe my words were misplaced or taken out of context, I hadn't seen the fight I just don't wanna see him stacking up guys like his last opponent exclusively. I'd like to see him step it up, albeit gradually. I honestly feel he can add something, he was ordered to face Pulev, the news broke the day of my birthday three years ago, was ecstatic at the time, unfortunately he's done nothing for four years with the exception of struggle versus Del and looked poor versus Sprott.

A fight versus Teper or Price would be something.
