Shawn porter being trained by his dad.

Damn after watching this I'm surprised shawn's still sticking with his dad. I mean I know he wants his son to do good and all but man he needs to loosen up because being such a perfectionist like that is never good on your fighters confidence.

Poor Shawn is probably feeling enormous amounts of pressure for pleasing his dad instead of enjoying himself. Never good. Mental and physical burnouts is always a risk if you have a trainer that strict.

Well his dad is his trainer and he seems comfortable with that, the day he doesn't am sure he would leave his dad.

I'd slap the hell out of my dad if he did that to me.

Wild caveman style won't cut it in boxing.

All boxers as basically wild cavemen.

With that said Porter's style is likely not a "choice". He's too heavy for his height so he has to try to out-caveman taller faster fighters ala Joe frazier, David Tua.

I agree. That drill looked like rubbish. What's going to stop someone from tying Porter up when he gets close like that?
