If a fighter has to deliberate this much over a comeback, doesn't that tell its own story about whether said fighter should come back?

I've always felt he would call it a day after his fight with Groves. He seems less motivated as time goes by, and as more time does go by, it's more likely he will retire.

Good for him if he does. I like it when a fighter goes out on his terms. He's had an excellent career either way.

I just find it aggravating that he goes out after talking trash about GGG and doesn't follow it up in the ring. I always respected him as a person and as a fighter but that hurt his image in my eyes.

Nothing but good things to say about Carl. He has fought the best, beat all but one of them, fought on foreign soil time and again, won multiple world titles, sold out arenas ...and knocked Groves out in front of 80,000 people in Wembley stadium.

It's been a tremendous career and if his heart is no longer in it, time to go. Enjoy the family life, do some broadcast work and get ready for the HOF.

What trash did Carl Froch talk about GGG?

He's made a lot of money and went out with a win in a huge event. I'm sure Froch thinks he could beat GGG but there must be some doubt about "what if i lose" - It's not really a way to go out after the high of wembley.

So it's probably a combination of not being hungry anymore and the one fight that motivates him is also the fight that could end his career with a huge blemish.

Not sure if it's true or not but it's sad even tho I saw it coming. I hope he stays retired. Too many boxers wanna stay in and end up further damaging themselves.

True, and probably shouldn't take Hearn all that seriously either, wouldn't completely shock me for Froch to announce he's fighting Golovkin or DeGale in the Autumn.
