Comments Thread For: Brook's Coach Hopes Rios Win Brings Manny Pacquiao

Dominic Ingle, trainer of IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs), hopes a fight with Brandon Rios can be made for August 29th in the UK.

He says his charge was not as motivated for recent fights against overmatched opponents Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin, but he expects him to be super-motivated for Rios - and just as hungry as the day he traveled over to the United States to capture the IBF crown from Shawn Porter.

Ingle is looking to get his fighter a major opportunity and views Rios as the perfect fight to get them there.

If he was not motivated why did he fight them. It's a typical British model, fight 35-40 bums, fight one good fighter and lose then become a legend.
There are many live opponents right now who would love to fight Brook, Bradley was available, Thurman is now available but we will see Brook fight another bum not even Rios.

Brook vs. Pacquiao is a good comeback fight coming off surgery. Winner would get Floyd in May.

Kinda saying something when Brook is a comeback fight. I'm rooting for Rios but I'd like to see Brook-Pacquiao.

Nah. Rios isn't a bum. He obviously has a limited skillset but he's a dangerous guy to be in the ring with. He's a live dog brawler who is game and comes to fight -- he's dangerous if he gets inside (which is what he'll be trying to do from the opening bell).

I'm still not buying Brook as an elite fighter: he cherry picks opponents and then fights Shawn Porter..who if you look at it...beat washed-up Alexander who lost 12-0 to Khan (same Khan who got exposed by Algieri) and he beat feather-fisted Paulie M...

That being said...wouldn't be shocked if Rios actually pulls the upset or at least exposes Brook a bit...

I'm sure Rios will now be considered an "extremely dangerous" opponent...

So he's NOT in the running for a Floyd fight?

I'd give him a VERY good shot of beating Pacquiao coming off the injury.

Rios takes a beating from Brook, that won't be pretty. And you are all crazy if you think Roach lets Pac anywhere near Brook. Floyd outclassed Pac but Brook will hurt Pac. Pac will come back next year at 140 since everyone obviously realizes he cannot KO anyone at WW. He should fight Garcia that would be a great matchup. I would actually root for Pac in that one so he can beat the hell of overrated Garcia.

After Floyd is gone, Brook and Thurman are going to rule and terrorize the WW and possibly JMW divisions.
