  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Geale Says Retirement is Not an Option

Australia's Daniel Geale has declared he's not even close to considering retirement despite being bitterly disappointed over his brutal knockout loss to WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto in New York.

Geale was dropped twice by the Puerto Rican power-puncher in Brooklyn on Saturday night, before enduring a barrage of body blows and head shots.

The lopsided contest was the 34-year-old's third straight loss in the US and mirrored last July's knockout defeat at the hands of Kazakhstan's Gennady Golovkin.

He can make some money fighting Mundine again and even Soliman, Dawson and Sherrington.

I can see a Mundine rubber match for the money.... Mundine will probably chase him after 2 KO's in 3 fights.

Solomon maybe... but he'll be too far gone for decent money.

Wasn't really interested in seeing him again after the Golovkin loss, still not interested

Why does he have to move up to 168 or is this just your automatic reaction when a 160 fighter says anything about cotto.

                160 got you shook

I think it is safe to assume that Geale won't be back on HBO to enhance his 0-3 record there.
