"Behind the walls of Camp Matthysse" - (Includes how he met Chino Maidana)

Just dug up an amazing article regarding Lucas Matthysse, definitely worth a read. It was during preparation for the Dallas fight and covers a bit of his personal life and also his ambitions and training regiment. Mmmm...Iguana tastes good.

Carlos Irusta goes behind the scenes of training camp as all-action Argentine junior welterweight titlist Lucas Matthysse prepares for Saturday's bout against Mike Dallas Jr.

"And I traveled around to other small towns, like Rafaela and Vera -- a small town where I met another guy who dreamed about becoming a boxer, like me.

His name was Marcos, but we called him 'Chino.' Yes, it was Chino Maidana."

^ That's some book worthy ****. Got goosebumps.

And TBH, I don't think I would like them to fight each other. YES, it is a dream matchup for us boxing psychos BUT... two fellow countrymen going at each other without bad blood... IDK... I'd rather see them wreck the rest of the world.

I completely forgot that he was supposed to face Morales. Who knows where Matts and Garcia would be right now if Matts made a different decision.

I agree, no need to make them fight. They're in different divisions and there are plenty of other good match ups.

It's crazy how different things might have been.

I want to see Matthysse go hard at Crawford. Tough fight but Crawford has never faced someone as relentless as Lucas. Little Gamboa put Crawford on check, I'd like to think true 140 pounder Lucas can do it tenfold. WAR MATTHYSSE~!!!!!!!

I really want Matthysse-Pacquaio. If Rios gets a show, why not Lucas? And it also gives Matthysse a chance to make some good money and make a big name for himself. Instead Pacquiao's going to fight Vargas (who will get a gift vs Bradley) then Crawford. And Lucas will probably fight Postol in October for the vacant WBC belt in Argentina.

I'd love it bro! Stylistically speaking, you'd have to give Crawford the advantage. HOWEVER, Lucas is the type of guy that tests not only your skills but your fortitude and toughness as a fighter, both physically & mentally. And Crawford hasn't tested a fighter of that stature yet.

Matthysse is VERY CAPABLE of grinding and roughing his way to a victory.

                    WAR MATTHYSSE!!!!
