Comments Thread For: Martin Murray: I Can Still Make 160, I'd Love Andy Lee

Martin Murray is relishing the step up to super-middleweight after switching to Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing.

The 32-year-old from St Helens challenged at the very top of the middleweight division and was twice denied world titles by controversial points decisions - drawing with WBA champion Felix Sturm in December 2011 before losing a unanimous decision to WBC king Sergio Martinez in April 2014.

Murray won many fans despite suffering an 11th round technical knockout to WBA super champion Gennady Golovkin in February and having proved himself at the summit of the middleweight division, will make his debut at the 168lbs limit on June 26 on another busy night of Sky Sports boxing.

Murray could beat Lee. Though Andy would be dangerous through out.

That would be a good fight, altough the billy joe fight would be more exciting,iv a feeling lee will go for GGG then, and altough id love to see lee in all these big fights, a small part of me just wants to see lee take it easy whit a few voluntrys here in ireland, the likes of spike o sullivan and that, but he wont do that i know and will go for the big fights

All said & done B.J.Saunders is #1 WBO mandatory & 160Lb, so B.J.S./Lee should be a 100% done deal next. I've no doubt Murray could beat the Irish ****ney, but he's gotta join the "Q"!

Only in the strange world of boxing does one lose two title fights and then somehow earns a third shot.

Sometimes the official decisions are incorrect, anyhow Murray fought 4 times in between his two title shots.
