Comments Thread For: Guerrero Wants Big Names: Eyes Garcia, Khan, Maidana

Former champion Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero (33-3-1, 18KOs) is ready for another big fight. He returned on Saturday at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. On paper he was expected to win easy, but instead he was forced to dig deep, and survive a fourth round knockdown, to win a ten round split decision over Aron Martinez.

Some felt at ringside that Guerrero may have returned a bit too soon after suffering a bad decision loss at the hands of Keith Thurman in March.

Guerrero V Garcia has to happen

Guerrero vs Garcia is the best, not only because it would be a great fight but can you fathom the build up, with the Mexico vs Puerto Rico rivalry(granted their American but still) and the God level trash talk with Ruben and Angel.... Dear god it's almost PPV worthy on that alone

This is now what 3-4 fights IN A ROW that Guerrero has looked bad. And should of lost this weekend but at least one of the judges was in Al Haymon's pocket. Easily could be 3 losses in his last 4 fights. His only real win was in a life or death fight with a C class fighter in Kamegai. He doesn't deserve a big name fight. He just got put on his butt and if the round wasn't over was going to get stopped and this was against a light hitting Martinez with only 4 career knockouts.

Guerrero needs a new trainer. Time to let his pops go.
