StubHub Center, Carson, California - Former champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (33-3, 18KOs) was forced to stage a late rally in the second half of ten round bout with heavy underdog Aron Martinez (19-4, 4KOs). The fight headlined an afternoon Premier Boxing Champions event on NBC.

Martinez took advantage of Guerrero's slow start and was outbrawling the veteran on the inside. In the fourth round, a series of punches sent Guerrero down.

Guerrero is not very good too slow and easy to hit

Guerrero is just another Jason Litzau or a Tony DeMarco just a slow easy to hit average boxer. Robert has a terrible trainer in Rueben the felon also. Reuben is not worthy of traininga puppy let alone a fighter.

This was worse than Danny garcias gift decision against Mauricio Herrera. Aron Martinez was an absolute nobody and arguably beat one of haymons "stars" he got exposed worse than khan did against algieri.

Robert looked really bad! He has been in many wars and I think Thurman took too much out of him. If he's getting knocked down by C- fighters with no power he needs to cash out now because his career might be over soon.

He was almost knocked unconscious in whatever round that was. The guy had his hands by his side and was getting clocked with clean punches. He will face Josesito Lopez then Errol Spence can put him to sleep.

He said the same thing about kamegai. Maybe he's just not as good as he thinks.

Guerrero used to be a decent boxer and had some versatility but he hasn't really boxed intelligently in a long time.

How he beat Berto was cool, but it was totally messed up how he did it because he had Betro's eyes shut yet stayed in close leaning over as if he wanted to get tagged by Berto's most dangerous weapon. which Berto did at will with 2 closed eyes. All his fights since I haven't seen Guerrero do anything defensively worthwhile, and no one can last like that.

I guess it was easier for him when he was way bigger, longer and guys couldn't really reach him but damn he is a vet you would think he would pick up a trick or two on the issue not get progressively worse defensively.

That said, if he fought Martinez again I do think Guerrero would do a better job of it. I don't know that he can beat a serious welter at this point, but I always hate judging guys by an obvious sub par effort.

Guerrero is done fighting at high level... He stinks. Claim to fame was in the lower weight classes.... Its either that or change trainers
