  • Comments Thread For: Cotto-Geale No Longer A Weighty Issue

Saturday’s middleweight championship showdown between Miguel Cotto and Daniel Geale is no longer a weighty issue. Both combatants came within the contracted 157 lb. catchweight in place for their headliner at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Cotto tipped the scales at a lean and ready 153.6 lbs. Geale brought about a collective sigh of relief after weighing in right at the catchweight limit of 157 lbs., his lightest weight in more than eight years. [Click Here To Read More]

Could Geale weigh as much as 15lbs heavier than Cotto when they meet in the ring?

Geale is so depleted that it won't matter, he may look bigger and even stronger but going too low in weight such in this case takes way too much out of you.

Easily. But rehydrating that much, that fast, does not necessarily give a fighter an advantage. It can actually cause problems with stamina and strength.

Maybe, but I think he'll still win rounds 9-12 if he gets that far. Cotto's engine is horrible.
