Comments Thread For: Neck Injury Forces David Price From 6/26 Liverpool Bill

Yet another injury, yet another bout involving David Price that falls off the schedule.

The latest comes courtesy of a pulled neck muscle. With the injury comes ordered rest and rehabilitation for a minimum of two weeks, which has forced Price off of a planned June 26 homecoming appearance at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.

An opponent had yet to be named for what was to be his first fight at home in nearly two years.

"Of course I’m disappointed,’’ Price claimed in a statement through his promoter, Sauerland Event's press office. "I had been looking forward to returning home at the very top of my game and fighting in front of my home fans once again, but unfortunately that will have to wait.

"My neck muscle needs resting and that has disrupted my preparations and made it impossible for me to be at full fitness for June 26.’’ [Click Here To Read More]

Never mind the Teper fight, this clears him to fight Joshua in July / September. Probably September I guess with a stay busy fight for Joshua in July.

Too dangerous to put a prospect who's never had to defend himself in with a guy who hits like Price.

Whatever his chin/stamina issues, he still has the ability to knock any fighter in the division out.

Joshua needs to fight a guy who will hit back so we can see if he has any defence because Joshua vs Price could be a one round shootout and price could win that scenario if he lands first.

Both sides won't risk it anyway, they will build price to a bigger payday situation, wilder wlad or fury

He really can't "never mind" a fight with Teper, unless this (or another) injury forces him to withdraw from that fight as well.

Price would have fought a nobody at the Echo anyway, a sort of homecoming present, so his absence from this card is hardly going to spoil the evening of anyone who turns up looking to see some serious sport. Smith and Fielding have got acceptable opponents who'll give it a real go. It figures to be entertaining and we'll learn a bit more about both locals in the process.

It's crazy the amount of injuries David Price is getting. Midway last year he was out with a hand injury, at the start of this year he was out with a minor bicep injury and now a neck injury.

                What's next, a toe injury?

It makes your wonder if he is just clearing his schedule, while thinking over taking the European title shot. Or is freeing things up so he can fight Joshua in September.

Probably not the case though, as he would of had a gimme' fight in July.
Seems he is just unlucky with injuries.

That's easy for you to say. The guy is a professional boxer, that's how he makes a living. If he quits, want's he gonna do??
