The only time Hatton-Witter could have happened was when it was a domestic level fight for no money. We can't exactly say the same about that for Khan-Brook, can we?

Originally posted by Dirk Diggler UK View PostThat's because Witter was a world champion at that point and had put in a good performance against Harris. This must have been 6 odd years after the Judah debacle. Plus he was fighting an American and Carl Froch was also on the card in what was supposed to be a world title fight.
You used it as an ace to justify his ducking Witter.
Froch was a nobody then and what has undercard got to do with this? 0 relevance to the subject at hand.
Burns-Crawford wasn't aired on HBO, so apparently being an American isn't enough.
Originally posted by Dirk Diggler UK View PostHatton has certainly been grilled over the Witter thing. Maybe you only got into boxing for Khan but I was around. Hindsight? What are you on about? It's what actually happened.
Yeah, I'm sure you were there before that too. I'm not even in my mid 20s.
Originally posted by Dirk Diggler UK View PostYeah and by the time Witter had won a world title, Hatton had signed to fight Urango with Castillo on the under card which then lead to Castillo and Mayweather. Witter missed the boat.
Witter missed the boat. How cute?
So, Brook missed the boat with Khan then? In hindsight Algieri comes back may be wins another World title or beats a name and we'll say the same thing.
By hindsight I mean now that we look at it you say "oh he was setting up fights", but if Hatton wanted it they would've positioned themselves in such a way where it works out for both guys.
Originally posted by Dirk Diggler UK View PostHatton-Witter would have been a British event but American TV would only have been interested when Witter got onto the world stage and he was too late.

Yeah, and you're deflecting. Going back to square 1. Beating the point to death. "Khan is ducking Khan is ducking". Yes, Dirk everyone gets it.Last edited by Box-Office; 06-06-2015, 02:16 PM.

Brook didn't miss the boat, Khan just jumped off it. Khan didn't have anything booked or mapped out. He stalled and stalled and stalled, hoping for Floyd or Pacquiao. Then said he was going to fight Marquez, Bradley, Cotto etc but he ended up announcing AlgieriThen said it wasn't true and then slowly announced it again when the backlash had calmed slightly.
The Brook fight was there on the table for him and the biggest available to him, he had no other plans and he took Algieri.

Interesting to note that Khan previously said very similar things about Brook (to the point that Brook seems to be reciting some of Khan's words here) but some people have claimed he's avoiding Brook.
"I definitely put Thurman as the most dangerous welterweight out there for me. It's a hard fight but it's winnable. I'd be very excited about that fight but I think the fight... His name's starting to grow now and it's one of them tough fights that can't just be made next. I think we have to go and fight some good opposition and it's built into a massive fight for me and Thurman because it's a very dangerous fight for both of us."
Kell Brook @ 6:33
I think Brook made perfect logical sense in his statement of Thurman.
