  • 10 years ago today....Ricky Hatton Vs. Kostya Tszyu

Cant believe its been 10 years since that fight happened, what do you remember about it? anybody go to the fight?

I was 16 and just left school, kinda pissed off i had to stay up till 2am for a UK fight but the build up was great in England.

I remember Tszyu getting fouled and screwed over by the ref for 11 rounds. I also remember that I was pissed cuz the result meant that a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Kostya Tszyu won't happen.

This was a classic fight,Hatton was relentless..Tszyu was a warrior and I expected nothing less from him..The ref really let um fight in this one..

Good fight for Hatton. Arguably the best win on his resume.

Good fight, ugly at times, dirty from both guys (let's not act like Kostya wasn't pulling some old man tricks in there). It was a fight about who was the tougher of the two and Hatton showed he was the best of the lot.

Then they showed Floyd - Gatti (rip), in the UK.

And I was amazed at the hand speed and beating he put on him. So was hooked.

Now looking back I was just a naive casual fan back then, so iv been through my boxing fan puberty, now understand how boxing works. Like most things it all boils down to money, but most sports are like that but at least the best take on the best.

Sloppy fight. Tszyu was not only fighting Hatton, but he was fighting the dirty ref and crooked hometown judges as well.

It was kind of a weird ending.

Havent seen the fight in a long time of course...

But I remember thinking that as hard fought and dirty as the fight was, I wasnt feeling like Hatton was putting that much 'KO-type' damage on Kostya, so when he didnt come out of his corner I was kinda shocked.

I remember a wrestling bout to be honest, still cant believe Hatton won that fight. He had his tactics right to a tee, he wrestle, clinch, maul and sat on Tsyzu's chest all day long, he could get away with it doe with his regular ref or uncle (Micky Vann).
