ESPN deportes reporting that there is a verbal agreement for Canelo vs Cotto in Brooklyn New York September 12th.

I know often deportes isn't 100% accurate but I hope they're right about this. Canelo said before he had no problems going to Cotto's turf. Let's hope Cotto gets through Geale and the fight gets signed soon after.

Maybe they made a deal? It's like you fight on the Mexican Holiday but I'll go to your preferred location (NYC). Either way I doubt this is true. September seems to early.

The whole HBO/Showtime thing.

Plus with Roc Nation backing Cotto up and with the rumor that Jay Z and Haymon don't like each other I can see Roc Nation and Golden Boy pulling the trigger on the fight at the Barclays center.

I mean if Canelo/Cotto gets signed for September on HBO ppv, who can Floyd fight to compete with the fight? With Khans performance I doubt many people want to see him vs Floyd.

Thats why Canelo vs Cotto wouldn't happen on that day. Most likely it would happen a week before or a week later.

Cotto isn't contracted to HBO.

Jay-Z and Beyonce were at Floyd fight.

Sam Watson already stated they would work with RocNation.

Essentially, there are no roadblocks in stopping May/Cotto II but I don't think it's going to happen either. It's the only way he's fighting on Sept. 12 regardless. And it doesn't matter who Floyd fights, he's going to take buys from Cotto/Canelo and vice-versa. It's bad business for both.
