Alabama isn't exactly known as a hotbed of boxing, so it's great to see them come out for the local star.
Not unlike Little Rock where Jermain Taylor managed to pull some crowds.Comment

Wilder is huge in AL. They threw him a parade and like thousands came out. He's doing great numbers on Showtime as well. People want a HW badly..Comment

The arena where they are holding the fight has 12 or 13,000 seats. So, what Dibella and Haymon did was wait to see how many $30 tickets they could sell and then set the cap on the seating capacity so they could claim that the fight is almost a sellout. This is some classic Bob Arum, Golden Boy type of crap they are pulling.WBC heavyweight champion Deontay "The Bronze Bomber" Wilder (33-0, 32 KOs) is expected to have a packed house when he makes the first defense of his world title against Eric "Drummer Boy" Molina (23-2, 17 KOs) on June 13th from the Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. The fight will be televised on Showtime.
Wilder's hometown fans are snatching up the tickets and less than 1,000 remain. The promoter of the event, Lou DiBella, expects a sold out arena before the day of the fight.

Its only 3hrs from Nashville, I got a ton of family in Birmingham, and my cousin is pregnant and her due date is the day ofthe fight. Good chance I was gonna be down there anyway. Might as well catch a fight card. The South isn't exactly a mecca for big fights anyway. So we take what we can get.Comment
