Comments Thread For: Daily Bread Mailbag: Khan-Algieri, Anthony Joshua, More

The Daily Bread mailbag is back, with Stephen "Breadman" Edwards answered questions on the best fighters from 1980 to the present, thoughts on Amir Khan vs. Chris Algieri, thoughts on heavyweight prospect Anthony Joshua, and more.

What’s up Bread I was born in 1980. Who would you say are the best fighters since 1980 or the last 35 years. Let’s say 10 best….

Bread’s Response: Geez you got me doing a list early in the am. Off the top of my head without comprehensive research….

I would bet on Povetkin to beat Joshua, still think Tyson Fury beats him right now and think Joseph Parker is a better prospect and beats Joshua right now, too fast for him.

now that the falx "Fight of the Century" is over, I would honestly say khan might give mayweather a run for his money. certainly more than Manny did, with that said, were I a betting man I would pick floyd over khan and I'm certain bettors in vegas would too. I want to see floyd fight someone dangerous, I mean a really tough fight for him for his final farewell. when someone mentioned GGG I thought to myself now there's a fight where I would put all my chips in actually "against" floyd. IMO floyd would hurt his hands punching the stainless steel cranium of Gennady. keith thurman or brooks would also be tough fights for floyd but no where near the level of difficulty of a GGG... after keith/kell I give khan a distant 3rd in favorability of fight entertainment for his last fight. no way a rematch against manny doh...

Bread was on the Ruckus Boxing Show last night (starting 1:05:00), talking about J-Rock and the JMW division. Good stuff.

Parker gets knocked out no doubt about it. But he is a tidy boxer. Fury is a great fight. Povetkin knocks AJ out mid rounds. Fast forward 18 months and AJ will knock all three out if they don't duck him!

Great list on your fighters of the last 35 years. Love it that you give Sal Sanchez major credit. That dude was a machine and such a great technician. He wasn't your typical Mexican fighter type brawler. He was smooth and a master technican.
