I think good looks helps hype jobs tremendously but we've seen enough ugly champs to know that looks aren't a priority. Ferocity helps a lot. Guys like Gatti, Tyson, Pac, etc will always be beloved for their aggressive attitudes while the better technical boxers become lost to history.
