  • Comments Thread For: Lucas Matthysse Weighs Options, Eyes October Return

Lucas Matthysse is coming off a big victory over Ruslan Provodnikov on April 18th. Now, the focus is on the future and it just might be a homecoming fight for 'the Machine'.

"So with Lucas," explained Eric Gomez, the V.P. and Matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions - "There's an offer for him to fight in Argentina and we are waiting to get a resolution from the WBC on what Danny Garcia's going to do with the title. So we're supposed to have a resolution in the next week or so."

Lucas should be fighting for a belt. Unification with Crawford down the line.

That's what I hope happens. I guess Crawford isn't an option yet.

I like Matthysee, but why does he fight so seldom? Why can't he fight at least 3 times a year?

Matthysse-Postol this year and a massive unification in Argentina if Cuenca manages to beat Ik Yang! It's about time Lucas had some luck. I'll be betting big with epoints on Matthysse's upcoming bout so hit me up with some bets. War Matthysse!

He had been until last year and this year I'm not sure if they had him planned for more than 2 fights. Even if they had, I'm sure he needs the extra time off after the Provo fight to recover. Also he will be 33 by the time he fights again and a lot of fighters seem to go to the 2 fights a year at that stage.

                    Sounds like a good plan.
