The only incentive is that Cotto would have the right to pull out of the fight. And to be honest, I would not put it past him as he has already proven that he is not the most courageous guy in boxing today by asking for the CW in the first place.

As long as he is under 160 he would still be eligible to win the belt. The cw doesn't change the fact the MW limit is 160.
