All this Cotto-bashing makes me wonder if GGG's fan base is composed of mostly casual fans (which could be good for him in the future). No knock on that. The truth is, nevertheless, if you've been anywhere near the sport in the past decade, that Miguel Cotto has fought everybody. It's that simple. Things were quickly changing, and you cannot forget that Miguel knew that a fight vs GGG could be very interesting down the road. He has said so himself. Why should he ruin the potential super-event it could be, just to rush things? Sign a GGG fight in April, have it in June, and hope it's a success? I get how much his fans want for GGG to become the man of the division, but those circumstances warrant what has happened. Anything else would've been a waste of a great fight and great business. When you compare Geale to Cotto's previous opposition (not counting his losses), he's actually going to be one of his toughest opponents.

Yes he's still Golovkin's destroyed leftovers forced down to a catchweight. But compared to crippled sergio, crippled yuri, part time mma fighter mayorga, etc, Geale would be one of the best wins of Cotto's career next to Mosely.
