With Manny he was embarrassed for 12. knocked down 6 times. Let me rephrase that...He made it 12 rounds with one of the best fighters on the planet. Got knocked down six times and GOT BACK ON HIS FEET to finish the fight.
Ruslan...Out boxed and smarted a dangerous fighter. Rulan is like fighting a run away train. He manged to out think and out slick him and fought (with one eye) to take home the win.
We have not heard the last from Algieri. On top of that resume thats so weak...hes fighting top guys and giving them all they can handle.
He gets fights because he lacks punching power and doesn't have enough experience to be a threat to beat any of the top fighters. No more, no less.

yeah but he had to beat taylor to get ruslan and beat ruslan to get pac.

his solid showing vs khan't also got him some future fights.

now ppl who wants to show up khan't will fight algieri too.

i can see thurman or brook koing fight algieri just to show they're better than khan't.

Wouldn't be hard to do. Algieri continually tried to walk down Khan because he knew Khan couldn't hurt him. Algieri would be much more wary of thurman or brook's power.

Kid has done good for himself despite all the jokes.

The fact that an algieri v provo fight at 140 determined the next opponent for the 147 lb WBO champ should make you vomit.

Yes, he showed well against Khan, but he only got the khan fight because he lacked punching power and had a high profile loss to Manny. That should be vomit inducing as well.

ALgieiri is now 0-2 at ww. That any top 15 ww would fight him should also be vomit inducing.

Basically, I'd put him a little bit ahead of Malignaggi though. But I like this comp.

                  why?

                  140 champ vs 147 champ

                  solid to me

especially after same guy just gave another top 147 a tough time

                      he's a solid fighter

                      very good technically? no.

                      but he's a good fighter.

i want to see him in chris byrd type fights. i.e. stronger but slower opponents.

byrd wasn't my type of fighter but i liked him. no power guys fighting power guys are fascinating to me.
