    Chris Algieri resume

This has to be one of the weakest resumes I've seen for a guy that got the chance to fight against Pacquiao and Khan.

What is behind him? is he any good or is he a good looking sellable man from the US that is protected by some people wanting to make a business out of him?
Or is he a future top5 WW?

He upset Provodnikov (with one eye most of the fight) and had a much easier time with Emmanuel Taylor who Adrien Broner had to go to war to with and didn't win as wide as Algieri did.

Beating Provo easily with just one eye takes a lot of talent and heart. Just ask matthysse, Herrera, Bradley and Alvarado how easy it is to beat Provo.

Also he gave khan a ton of problems winning easily 5 rounds. Algieri is champion material.

Hes a good fighter but he needs to beat a top guy to prove hes one of the best welterweights. His only impressive wins are taylor and provodnikov. He lost to khan and manny

Algieri should fight Broner or Porter next.

I'd like to see him in with Alexander,Guerrero,Berto,or Chaves next. Those guys all need to battle it out to see who gets a shot again.

You can look on his resume that way with just looking on his boxing record. But he was a 2-time kickboxing world champion without amateur experience. Then he got into boxing without amateur experience and boxed while studying and working. That's the reason for his level of opposition early in his career. He signed to his promoter after 12 figths. He had talent but wasn't pushed. He even wanted to quit boxing so his promoter got him the Taylor fight.
If he stays with JDJ he can be Top 5 WW. The division is wide open and just his physical attributes serve good vs. the majority of the division.

                  let me explain.

emmanuel taylor was a good prospect with extensive amateur background.

some ppl thought he was good.

algieri beat him. that put algieri on the map.

provodnikov a 140 champ and top 5-10 140 guy gives algieri a shot.

                  algieri beats him.

                  now algieri is a 140 champ and a top 5 140 guy.

provodnikov-pacquiao was in discussion pre-algieri loss.

                  so pac fights algieri.

khan then fights algieri because algieri has name recognition from pac fight.

                  simple.

he was a top 5 guy at 140.

he gave a top 5 147 khan a good fight.

he's a top guy already just not elite.
