Cotto can get ktfo in the first round, and he still gets to keep his belt.

Its a joke that the 160 title isnt on the line of you weigh in under 160.

If Geale's under 160 then the title is on the line unless Cotto chooses to make it a non-title fight which would require permission from the WBC.

As long as he is not over 160 he can fight for the title...now will Cotto fight is the question

wait so the ONLY issue with being overweight for a catchweight fight is the FINE $$?
thats awesome. i hope geale comes in 159.

Geale can not win the title if he is over 160. However with the catchweight of 157 in effect if Geale came in at 158 or 159 or anything at or below 160 and he beat Cotto I think he would be the new champ. Cotto does not have the power to change the middleweight limit from 160 down to 157. I guess Cotto could refuse to fight Geale at all if Geale is overweight and make sure he kept his title.
