Me too. On the same token even without a catch weight he would still look like sh it at 160. Thats the dirty game of cheating to fight at a lower weight class. Geale should be fighting at 168. But he wants to fight smaller guys so he has to go through the extreme weight loss. That's on him. Cotto knew this. He knew geale is coming in the ring at 175. So he took this step to protect himself. Cotto is no more guilty than geale is at weight manipulation. Cotto just gots the upper hand.

Im with you on this one. What does Geale have to lose? It looks like he's almost done with boxing anyway.

In HS i would walk around at 165. Friday I wouldn't eat at all and I would practice hard for about 3 hours. by the end of the day I was around 157. I'd lose 3 lbs sleeping then I'd wake up saturday morning and weigh in at 154. We had same day weigh ins. I'd drink a **** load of gatorade and eat and I was at 160+ 2 hours later.
You're an idiot. Trying to sound like you know it all. This man is in his 30s. You're body isn't the same as you age. Younger people are able to get away with it. A perfect example would be Chavez Jr.

Geale legitimately makes weight for a weight class in boxing and you call it cheating?

So when cotto was fighting in the lower weight divisions by your definition he was cheating because he would put on 10 pounds after the weigh in.

It is not cheating to make weight, you have no clue at all about boxing, maybe defending cotto so much has turned your brains to chit.

cotto on the other hand is making another fighter come in at a catch weight of his choosing to drain him.

I personally think that some cotto stans are taking fanboyism to a new level.

And you also have the chance of Cotto refusing the fight because of it.

That is a lose-lose for a guy who literally got a gift title shot.
They would have to come to an agreement. Geale's not going to fight for nothing and Cotto gets nothing if Geale doesn't fight. The real upside for Geale would be if he fights at the actual MW limit and goes on to beat Cotto.

yup dey all cheating. Over 10 pounds is exteme. That's 2 weight classes. Part of the game I guess. Bit if you look like geale now and how cotto looked vs pac there are issues there. But they both agreed so they reap what they sew. Cotto learned. Geale will Saturday.

Also sounds like he could've gone lower if he's cutting it off that easy.
I couldn't cut anywhere near that in a day near meet time, and that was while I was wearing multiple layers.

Then again I'm near my limit around then

Well if you said they should be going back to same day weigh ins then I would understand but if you make the weight limit on the scales on the weigh in then it isnt cheating.

A catchweight for fighters who fight in the same weight division is bs. Catchweights generally should be for fighters from 2 different weight divisions so they can have a fight.

Pac was actually moving up a weight class to fight cotto, it is more acceptable then what cotto is doing to a fighter in the same weight division.

Exactly. If it were up to some of these envious kids, they would have Cotto fight a cruiserweight. They were told and eye for an eye, but it looks like Margarito is the only one with a fcked up eye.

                    "We want Cotto's eye!!!!!!"

what drains a lot of these fighters is that they're 20 + lbs over their weight. of course that's going to affect you but for you to say 10lbs in 7 days is tough is just ignorant. it's pretty obvious that you've never had to make weight in your life.
I have before but totaly different from the way you do it. 10 lbs in 7 days is hard depending on who you are. Not everyone is the same dude and not ignorant at all.
