roach overthinks himself. tries too hard.
I'll always find this comical because it's true.

Cotto got physically, mentally and psychologically destroyed by Margarito a year earlier and was coming off a close fight against clottey, it's not so much due to the catchweight, it's more due to them fighting cotto at the worst time of his career. I think his dad also died around that same time so Cotto wasn't a 100%

the ring ratings at 147 on march 2009?

        top 5 147
        Antonio Margarito
        Miguel Cotto
        Shane Mosley
        Joshua Clottey
        Manny Pacquiao

        i shiet you not.

look up pac's next 4 fights after hatton at 140.

top rank ran out of 147 fighters for pac.

that's why they were signing guys like shane and jmm or having their 135/140 guys move up.
Instead of doing all of those random signings/slave contracts he should have just reached his hands out to Golden Boy's roster or reached out to Haymon. Bob Arum just had to keep everything in house. That was also a big reason why Pac's WW resume is such garbage.

You can't honestly sit here and tell me that Bob Arum didn't sign certain guys to slave contracts. These guys literally had to resign YEARLY contracts with him just to even get a fight. That's why guys like Bradley, Chavez, Rigo, Mikey Garcia and so on wanted out. To my surprise, Bradley actually got a good deal out of it but the other guys had no choice but to leave.

                  oh please stfu.

every promoter signs fighters to long contracts. they have to build them up.

                  they're investments.
