  • Comments Thread For: Gradovich's Manager Furious With Scoring, Stoppage

Egis Klimas, manager of Evgeny Gradovich, is very upset with end result of Saturday's mandatory IBF featherweight title defense against Lee Selby at The O2 in London.

The fight was stopped in the eight round, and went to the scorecards, when the ringside doctor became concerned with a cut that Gradovich suffered from a clash of heads.

Because the injury was caused by an accidental foul, the fight was sent to the scorecards, and Selby was awarded the victory and the IBF featherweight crown with unanimous scores of 79-73, 80-72, 79-73.

    Trolling surely.

Can't believe they gave him a round.

He had a nightmare. Got hit with nearly everything.

Klimas the old man needs to whipe his glasses off before fights. At the most on a reach i could only see 1 close round you could have gave to Gradovich and that was being kind. Selby even had him on ***** street in one of the rounds when he stumbled and went into reverse. At least in the Mitchell fight Mitchell had put Linares heavily on the canvas and was winning the fight on the scorecards. Gradovich barely landed a decent shot all fight.

He didn't look like a world class fighter in there.

It was one of those fights when even 1 minute into the first round you can see which fighter holds all the aces.

Gradovich won 1 round, if that.

The scores are right. The stoppage was not.

These managers and trainers need to stop with the fairy tales and let their fighters win in the ring. Fighters can't lose these days without their promoters managers and trainers crying robbery.

Gradovich was getting schooled. He won 2 rounds at most.

                    Home cookin' in the UK.

Even the UK commentators on SKY seemed blind to Gradovich's punches, every time he'd hit Selby, they'd say Selby hit Gradovich!

After that BS I was rooting for Linares to stop Mitchell. Even though he was well ahead on my card, I knew they'd rob him if it went the distance.
