Lee Selby vs. Gary Russell Jr.

Unification fight for the IBF and WBC titles. This would be one for the purists.

I think Russell overwhelms him. Gradovich is slow and has no pop, Russell is the opposite with better defense and footwork.

I like Selby, he's a good fighter, but he's not on that level yet. No matter what those announcers and Glenn McRory think. Russell would win the fight.

It's difficult to say until we see both guys against better comp.

Russell Jr lost handily to Lomachenko then beat up an old Mexican who was having a rough time of it in terms making weight and personal troubles with a friend dying. Selby was easily outpointing Gradovich.

They're all pretty much second tier in that division though, behind Lomachenko and Walters.

I have no problem with this fight taking place, but I would prefer for Russell to fight either Mares or Santa Cruz, especially if Cruz or Mares are not fighting each other which I don't think they will. I don't like the direction that Mares and Cruz are going right now, fighting nothing but tune ups. I would think Haymon would reward Russell for blitzing Gonzalez.
