He will be a better version of Lewis in a year.the only guy who will beat him is wlad and that fight wont likely happen unless Wlad comes out of retirement by the time Joshua is the champion.or somehow the fight is made in two/three years if Wlad is still around.i see him easily beating everyone else now ,klitchko,Joshua and povetkin imop in that order are the top 3 guys.Im giving Joshua the benefit of the doubt I just see a really top level guy here reminiscent of the bowes and lewis days.
Can Anthony Joshua fulfill mike Tysons potential??

Having AJ but not Wilder is a joke and I praise AJ every chance I get. If he has a chin he guranteed wins a title and even if he doesn't have a chin he will likely STILLL win one. But Wilder has ko'd all comers 30+ times in exception of his last opponent whom he suffered a broken hand in the 4th round against. Don't have to like Wilder but if u r a true boxing fan u would/should respect him and give him his credit. The man won a HW title convincingly from a solid fighter in Stiverne and he deserves respect for doing so.He will be a better version of Lewis in a year.the only guy who will beat him is wlad and that fight wont likely happen unless Wlad comes out of retirement by the time Joshua is the champion.or somehow the fight is made in two/three years if Wlad is still around.i see him easily beating everyone else now ,klitchko,Joshua and povetkin imop in that order are the top 3 guys.Im giving Joshua the benefit of the doubt I just see a really top level guy here reminiscent of the bowes and lewis days.Comment

too soon for me to tell. I need to see him tested...unless he's so good it gets hard for even guys we would normally call "good" to actually test him. Then he'll be seen as someone who somehow doesnt take risks...funny how that works.Comment

Its not how many wins you have its clear to me Joshua is still more seasoned than Wilder ,not putting Wilder over him also doesnt prove weather i like or dislike him, take a look at the pole of voteson the other thread of Joshua vs Fury this tells you hes a clearly worth more then you are giving him credit for ,im clearly with the majority here,if its a joke well i guess many have been fooled here.Having AJ but not Wilder is a joke and I praise AJ every chance I get. joshua is looking much more like a robot then tyson, who was a much better athlete.
i hope joushua get knocked out, cause they gave him the gold medal in London, when he was clearly beaten in two fights. the olympics were fixedComment

I've been disappointed with the heavyweight division but there are fights out there to make it interesting but as usual they won't happen.
You have Wlad, Haye, Joshua, fury, Wilder, Povetkin.....why aren't these fighters facing each other and testing each other against risky opponents? I can understand Joshua as he is young but his next fight should be agaisnt Fury, then Haye, then Wilder and then Wlad but it won't happen!Comment

Really good post mate.Povetkin is a joke and would be embarrassed by Joshua. Russia is a very dirty place when it comes to PEDs... And that's a Fact!!!
Now to the question, the problem with Tyson was he was defying the odds being 5'10" and was coming into the age of the big tall fighters. Joshua is perfectly built for this division and the future that it holds. Personally I always had the feeling watching Mike someone would expose a flaw, but Joshua is so big and athleticly gifted that the only possible flaws maybe a weak chin or weak stamina... If Joshua holds those gifts as well, the division maybe cleaned out in the next few years.
Another thing I'd add is AJ's team is much better, in term of having true respect for their fighter. Eddie Hearn really really cares about AJ. Of course the bottom line is king but not in the same way Don had it.
I swear on my life someone better damage AJ this year or next because if he continues on the path he's on he will simply be unstoppable.
He has it all. I know he has a chin, I can't wait until he shows the world he has a great chin.
The boy has everything apart from experience!Comment

nope.
but he's a very, very talented youngster.
tyson was a complete product in his early 20's. as a small HW [height and reach wise,] he learned to use his body early, and his body peaked early.
cus had him throwing with phenomenal technique and head movement to back it up. he was a machine. he wasn't just a hard puncher. he had tremendous technique.
joshua is a big, talented kid. i like him.
he's not mike tyson. he's not close. he can't hit like that, move like that. they're completely different classes of fighter.Comment

you guys didn't follow the early career of mike tsyon, clearly.
other than size, what does joshua do on anywhere near the level of a young mike tyson?
tyson was HW champion when he was 20. 20!
don't get me wrong, i was a toddler. i watched the tape, however. i used to be obsessed with boxing history, and HW had a place in my heart because of the way historians used to regard it.
tyson's potential, and ability as a young fighter, was greater than joshua's in every regard. joshua is bigger and taller. that's it.
and believe me, i like AJ. ther'es nothing wrong with a young kid who knows how to fight and who knocks his opponents out. he's just not mike tyson. he isn't. that's crazy.Comment
