I watched the fight and I agree that Melindo lost fair and square. I guess the Filipino followers were expecting an easy victory of their conational based probably in his ability of boxing but reality was that he was forced to trade with Mendoza and was getting punished. Because of it, Melindo decided to start resourcing to low blows, head butting and even using his knees to collide (like it happened at the end of round 5th). The referee could or should have been DQ'ed Melindo. I believe Melindo's frustration came from the fact that he prepared around 4 months for this title fight and he was expecting something very different to what he faced last night. Sometimes watching tapes and studying/predicting another fighter just becomes useless as it seems it was the case regarding yesterday's fight.
