Pac is probably not coming back until december or early next year to let his shoulder heal. So no chance he can fight in august. So that leaves Thurman and Rios.

If Brook fought Porter, why would he be afraid of Thurman? I feel like those are pretty comparably vicious opponents. I mean, I'm not saying he is definitely not scared but it seems like why would he be?

But I will admit that it is pretty well known that Thurman is fighting in July, and that Pacquiao is almost definitely going to remain out through the end of the year at least, so this basically boils down to 'Brook eyes Rios' as others have been saying. I guess it's not the worst possible matchup he could have made given how little time he is giving himself between fights, but I hope we see something more of the fight after this one.
