O2 Arena, London - Jorge Linares (39-3, 26KOs) stopped Kevin Mitchell (39-3, 29KOs) in the tenth round to retain the WBC lightweight championship.
Linres using his quick hands, and quick feet, to get off with rapid shots in the early going. Mitchell started finidng his range in the fourth round, landing some very good punches on the champion.
Mitchell caught Linares with a bomb and dropped him hard in the fifth. Linares beat the count, and Mitchell jumped on him and was landing hard combinations. Linares was able to recover quickly and went back to boxing. By the end of the round he started landing combinations on Mitchell.
