Comments Thread For: Hatton: Mayweather Will Not Be Remembered For Action

Former two division world champion Ricky Hatton has a ton of respect for the in-ring abilities and natural talent of Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs). Hatton, who at the time was an undefeated mega-star in the UK, was knocked out by Mayweather in ten rounds in 2009.

According to Mayweather, he plans to have his final career fight on September 12th.

How will people remember Mayweather when he finally walks away?

Hatton says the general public, and fans of the sport, will remember him for his exceptional ability and his personality. But they won't remember him for being an exciting fighter and someone who put in his all to please the fans. [Click Here To Read More]

Floyd lickers have to accept this. The guy is an incredible fighter but he is literally the most boring superstar boxing has ever produced. He offers nothing to the casual fan style-wise.

I lost count of the people on Facebook who bought the May-Pac fight and were just saying "wtf did i just watch" "biggest waste of $100" "never making the mistake of watching boxing again"

On the others side of the coin: Many people forget that Mayweather were a lot more agile and aggressive when he was in his first few weight classes. Mayweather started out from sfw and ended up in ww/jww. I think it's natural that he took back from his aggressiveness and became more defensive minded when he went up in weight classes That's the usual thing to do. Don't be mislead b Pac's way, that's pretty exceptional.

I' curious how "exciting" and at the same time successful Hatton would have been if he goes up 3 weight classes to middleweight and fight a few fights in 168 also.

Hatton, shut the **** up! You were a fighter that the media hyped up and mayweather showed you where you belonged; like all of his other opponents in the loss column. You are a has been, a drunk, and if they will not remember Mayweather, then who the **** is going to bring your name up?

Floyd's fighting style has paid off in the long run, literally and figuratively.

Most fighters were't Gatti-ish. Most boxers don't have "fun action guy" on their boxing career obit. This comment rings of a white trash ugly ass girl dissing a pretty girl about her ****ing ability to her unfaithful eyed boyfriend. "She might look better than me, but I can **** your brains out".

And Hatton won't be remembered for his exceptional ability. He'll be remembered mostly for his LOL KO losses by most fans (haven't read his book but I assume his turnbuckle headbutt KO L to Mayweather & his destruction by Pacquiao & that being the things he'll most be remembered for by fans probably led to some of his self destructive behavior).
