We should not be surprised though...In a world in which people swear Margarito was suspended for having bad teeth and NOT plaster, that Ashley Theopane "schooled" Danny, and that Lucas lost because of a lucky skull fracturing... "glancing blow..." It's no wonder they think Herrerra's "jabs" deserve to unseat a champion. Historically, the champ gets the benefit of the doubt especially when he lands the HARDER shots.

Don't forget - Margarito was also on the verge of KOing Cotto in the rematch and round 9, Cotto was ready to wilt, even though all the hard shots that round were by Cotto and Cotto was manhandling him in the trenches that round too.

Peterson def came on strong - but he gave up like the first 6-7 rounds. All his "disputed" wins were all really close affairs. Herrera peppered him with jabs, but all the hard shots were landed by Garcia.

Garcia keeps winning and it's making you guys lose your mind. His time will come when he will lose, just like any other fighter, still doesn't change the fact that he's taken on the best fighters in his class and has won.

But what these casuals don't realize, fights are scored round by round and Peterson unfortunately spent too much time jogging, bob and weaving and throwing out occasional jabs the first half of the fight, effectively giving away the fight. He himself put himself in a huge scoring hole.

In a rematch, I'm sure he'll come on strong and stand his ground, but that plays into Danny's hands.

TBH, I think 147 is overdue, he's a pretty big guy - I think '47 will help him out

I get that and he's [Postol] earned a shot but people are hyping him to be a legitimate threat which I don't think is the case. It's like a little better version of Jo Jo Dan when he fought Brook

Well he beat Corley, Lundy, and knocked Aydin out. I think he's a good boxer, and a legit threat in the division.

I don't really think the comparison with Dan carries any weight, Postol is ranked #7 by Ring and #9 by TBR, Dan was never rated like that.

Surely this rules out Garcia for the Mayweather bout? Now back to the 140 division, it doesn't sound like it'll be Viktor Postol so he will most likely vacate his belts. Hopefully we get Matthysse-Postol for the vacant WBC strap, Lucas deserves to hold a legitimate title.

And if Thurman has a rough or tough fight vs Collazo, will he be ready for September 12th? Kell Brook is also a possibility but I think that's unlikely.

Keith Thurman, the first ESPN headliner, is having his fight in Tampa, FL, his home town. If Danny Garcia is headlining the August show on ESPN, it isn't much of a stretch that they'd be taking Garcia's show to Philadelphia.

Postol is the mandatory for the WBC, isn't a terrible fight, and helps keep Garcia as kingpin at 140.

Yeah I thought it was close in spite of Peterson's late work even though I watched with some guys who swore Peterson won easy. They pretended they scored it but I know they were too buzzed to pay that close attention. A day later they all said it was a close fight after watching again. Definitely was. Would love to see a rematch. And Peterson's test results lol.
