Comments Thread For: Cleverly: Braehmer Fight Date, Agreement is in Place

Nathan Cleverly is looking to get back on the world title trail as he drops back down to light-heavyweight on Saturday night.

The Welshman is back down to 175lbs after losing to bitter rival Tony Bellew up at cruiserweight in November, and the former world champion is eyeing a clash with Juergen Braehmer in the autumn.

The 28-year-old held the WBO world light-heavyweight crown for three years before losing to Sergey Kovalev and will be looking to rip the WBA belt from the German who defended it for the fourth time in March against Robin Krasniqi.

If he loses, will he go back up to Cruiser and claim he was drained at Light-Heavy? That said I think he wins this, I think Braehmer is vastly over-rated.

The kid need a proper trainer to succeed.

His dad is certainly not Enzo, and hes certainly not Joe. He needs some better tactics drilled into him or he'll most prb lose again when he steps up.

When Stieglitz beats Abraham i would like to see him fight Brähmer, Abe can fight Sturm without a title at stake and the victor can fight the victor. Their are some interesting match ups between the four of them. I fail to see why Brähmer campaigns at light heavy, he isnt competitive against the top guys at the weight.

As for Cleverly, he should be barred from competing for any WBA belt whilst Krusher is in receipt of the actual champs title, lord forbid should that rematch be ordered.

I don't think i have ever seen Braehmer rated by anyone.

Sauerland must think Cleverly is totally shot because they wouldn't let anybody with half a chance fight Braehmer. They simply wouldn't risk it with the loads of money still to be made in Germany pawning Braehmer off to the gullible public as a legit "champion."

This has all the making of Cleverly-Bellew 3.

Of course assuming Cleverly wins this and Bellew most probably getting smashed at Cruiser by Huck.

I'd like to see Bellew vs Chakhkiev ordered for the no.2 spot for the IBF,a semi eliminator as such. Not that I have anything against Bellew, but Rakhim destroys that fat bastard an eliminator between Ramirez and Chakhkiev to then face Hernandez would be an awesome set of events.

Cleverly now appears to be staying at LH, could Bellew make LH again ?
