Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez Starts Training, Looking Good

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs), 41-years-old, is back training at the famed Romanza gym owned by his longtime trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain.

Marquez has been inactive since last May's twelve round decision win over Mike Alvarado at The Forum in Los Angeles. Several return attempts have been postponed because Marquez has been dealing with a serious knee injury.

The Mexican star is very motivated to fight, at least once more in his Hall of Fame career, and wants to win a fifth divisional title by getting a shot at the welterweight championship.

lol, Roach is gonna start with his rematch campaign pretty soon here comes the posse of cheerleaders, I can hear them now. A recent knee injury gives enough leverage for a actual pacquiao win.

He lost a big opportunity to retire at the right time after Pacquiao on such a high note, but instead he ruined that momentum.

I don't mind seeing him fight a couple more times. The Alvorado fight was awesome, seeing the old man school the next generation. He should avoid Pac though. Pacquiao doesn't leap in anymore since the KO and I don't see a rematch playing favorably for Marquez. Still plenty of awesome matches that could be made though.

I still say JMM shouldn't fight Pac again since he was robbed twice against him but hey, make sure USADA is involved and JMM will get another KO or he could beat up on Pac for 12 rds. A clean Pac is just not that scary it seems lol.
