Comments Thread For: Malignaggi Wonders if Froch Needs Golovkin Risk

The talk of the UK is a possible super middleweight fight between top contender Carl Froch and WBA/IBO 160-pound champion Gennady Golovkin.

The dangerous middleweight is ready for the battle, but Froch has yet to make a decision on whether he plans to fight again. Froch has been inactive since last May's knockout of George Groves in their rematch before a crowd of 80,000 fans.

As a fan, former two-division world champion Paulie Malignaggi is very excited about the fight potentially taking place. But as a fighter, he wonders if Froch should walk away at the right time like his countrymen Lennox Lewis and Joe Calzaghe. [Click Here To Read More]

Froch wants this fight because he truly believes he can win, furthermore the risk is worth the reward. This is GGG not an unknown Degale who wasnt even a titlist when he wanted to challenge Froch. The accolades and recognition for a win against GGG would be huge.

Yes Paulie that is what defines greatness taking on challenges. It's like Jordan saying I already won three championships should I go for four or should I go out on top. One should always seek to achieve more unless of course Froch just cannot do it anymore so then I understand. Paulie is the biggest loser in boxing you know just a loud mouth that talks and talks. I loved it when Porter's dad confronted Paulie about the steroid comment and he was scared as hell. Why does he always have to mention Floyd and Manny it is as though he has a weekly quota which Haymon gives him to bash Pacquiao and d ride Mayweather. But it is funny Froch, Malagnaggi are my least favorite fighters because they are both scrubs who feel that they are hot crap. Mayweather should take on Andrade or a young and prime slick black fighter next. So Paulie take a hike you lost all your big fights and just faked an injury to get out of a fight with a scrub fighter. Go to your Italian area and hope to get made one day cause you are corrupting boxing with your illogical rants

        Dirrell was robbed against Froch

If Froch does not pursue this fight, then he has no basis to criticize an old Calzaghe for not fighting him.

If Froch declines, I could see Hearn offer Golovkin a London fight vs DeGale. I think Golovkin would stop DeGale late and maybe entice a fight with Froch.

They kept saying GGG is too much of a risk for Mayweather because of his size, but now they trying to say he's too much of a risk for Froch because...what exactly?

Can anyone just admit that they think GGG is dangerous because he's a skilled, heavy handed fighter or is everyone just going to pretend there is some other reason?
