Imo, the weight is a big deal. Porter fought at JMW and has been on the record struggling to make 147. Now he has to come in at 144? What does that mean to you, personally?

If the weight isn't a big deal why didn't they just get down at 147? Obviously it's a big deal and Papa Haymon knows it. Broner knows it. You know it. I know it.

It will def tale away from the win if you're a Hardcore boxing fan. Only a fool, and casual can turn a blind eye to that.

Even though Porter himself and his team are on record stating weight isn't an issue? Hmmmmmm. For all we know the weight could be in Porter's favor.

Cmon man, you think they are gonna start making excuses about the weight before the fight even starts? It was agreed upon because we know Porter cannot afford (lirerally) to pass this opportunity up. It's good exposure, it's a big fight for him, I'm sure the money is good. This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for him. Fck, Maidana got a shot at Mayweather with a win over Broner. It's worth the gamble.

Secondly, it's not a good move for his psyche to already start telling himself that he's at a disadvantage due to the catchweight. You need all the confidence you can have going into a fight. So maybe he truly has convinced himself the weight ain't a factor.

Why didn't the fight happen at 147?

Because like Garcia, Broner is trying to ease his way into the WW market. He jumped in the deep side of the pool a little too early. He's gotta take small steps. WW is where the money is. But you can't just jump in there, you gotta condition yourself.

Porter is still going to blow up in weight. He'll be at the very max of the rehydration clause.

I agree with your post. I'm just hoping for a good fight and both men to come in ready.

It doesn't matter bruh, they hate no matter what they do, certain "fans" can't handle fighters from a particular segment of society (Broner's, Crawford's, Garcia's)

                  Maidana was a weak titlist?

Unprofessional how? Because he's a rap artist? Because he likes to make money from other means? That's called being smart and having investments.
No, I mean the little guys he only beat because he was huge and squeezing down Chavez Jr. style to make weight, and when he could no longer squeeze down and missed weight, he finally moved up. Hence, when he had no choice.

He didn't move up to win a title against Maidana. Maidana didn't even have a belt, I don't think. He went after what remained of Paulie Malignaggi. You can pretend that meant something if you like, and I know you will.

He's unprofessional because he doesn't show boxing respect. Doesn't make weight, doesn't put in the work, doesn't respect other fighters, downright mooches off the name of a great, he was brought up the easy way and has made his living earning big paydays for **** fights. He copied everything from Floyd Mayweather except the hard work Mayweather puts in.

What Mayweather has done is smart. Broner is just a disrespectful idiot trying to copy him.

You lost all credibility there kid. Beating C level fighters is NOT a solid streak. It was to build up his confidence since it was shattered like his chin was after getting molly whopped by Chino.
