Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will start camp with his new trainer, Robert Garcia, in 10 to 12 days. Chavez Jr. will wait until Garcia has settled in after returned from the UK, where he traveled to work the corner for IBF featherweight Evgeny Gradovich this Saturday night against mandatory challenger Lee Selby.
Chavez returned to the last month, after a year layoff, and was stopped in nine rounds by top light heavyweight Andrzej Fonfara at the StubHub in Carson, California.
He was trained for that fight by Joe Goossen. Prior to Goossen, Chavez was trained by Hall of Fame coach Freddie Roach.
