In 2016 the biggest fight is Canelo-GGG

Mayweather retires. Pacquaio gets fed to Crawford in his casual fan coming out party. Thurman will still be fighting Haymons JV team at 147.

Meanwhile Canelo will be coming off a drubbing of Cotto and GGG a hard fought win over Froch.

Canelo takes back Mexican holiday weekends PPV with a huge fight vs GGG in September 2016.

It will be huge...casuals will even be looking forward to this one.

Was with you till I read the Pac fighting Crawford nonsense. Makes zero sense to book that fight and it'll never happen.

Biggest fight for 2016 is Deontay Wilder(c) vs Wladimir Klitschko(c) for all of the belts, with no other fight even remotely close.

To rub the nose in it, book the fight for Kentucky Derby weekend (which is always the first Saturday of May, regardless of the date)

      moving on

Canelo does not fight GGG until 2017 at the earliest. If he ever does fight him at all. Chances are that Golovkin moves to SMW after unifying all the titles and never fights Canelo. So Canelo and Cotto will both be able to say that they have never fought GGG and will continue to claim that they would have been able to beat him.

If Canelo beats Cotto it would be the next fight that has to happen

Unless Froch/GGG is made and Froch puts a damper on this fight yes GGG and Canelo should meet in a blockbuster fight in 2016

It will be the biggest fight of 2016 only if they show the fight on HBO after the replay of Mayweather/Pacquaio II like they did with Alvarez/Kirkland. Alvarez will lose to Cotto and GGG will lose to Froch if these fights happen.

The biggest fight in 2016 might be Cotto/Froch in Las Vegas on PPV or it could be Ward/Kovalev or Klitschko/Wilder, but it damn sure won't be Alvarez/GGG.

Without a doubt. They're on a collision course to see each other in the ring (Canelo & GGG.) The only thing that could slow that down is Cotto somehow upsetting Canelo.
