Kevin Mitchell says a cut on the bridge of his nose is 'perfect' and will not stop him from taking Jorge Linares' WBC world lightweight title on Saturday night - live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Three-weight world champion Linares is expected to provide Mitchell with the toughest night of his career and there was concern when Mitchell suffered the injury in sparring in Texas last month - but the 30-year-old has revealed it's a minor old wound that won't affect him on the night.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ following a public workout in Covent Garden, Mitchell said: "I picked it up in sparring with Ricky about a year ago. It was before the Wembley show. It was the week before the fight and we were touch-sparring and he threw a right hand over that cut me slightly.

linares is crap, i could beat him up on my debut, he's got old mans skinny legs, he cant even keep the range you can get hooks off on him, when he's stepping around. All he's got is kind of a week right uppercut and a jab n straight right but theyre easy enough to negate. All you gota do is duck em and step forward get the hooks off, body to head would be good. He's too stiff and doesnt roll with the punches, the ref will wave it off, his face is usualy a bloody mess even in fights he wins and he always starts to fade, and thats against lesser fighters. He's even been knocked out at super featherweight, he is going to get knocked out nomatter what delahoya says ha!

linares is nothing, he gets knocked out so he fights cabbies, all his last fights are cabbies. he's geting knocked out.....demarco's not even a beast, sergio thompson just lost to super featherweight, you need to watch tape n not go off hearsay. Estrada was supposed to win aswell he fought like an old man , no speed at all, look at linares nothing on his punches later on, he's weak. burns, crolla, mathews would all paste linares. all they need is a decent gameplan if linares counters the body hooks with uppercuts then they need to think about not throwing too many either way in the pocket linares sucks.
