Kevin Mitchell says a cut on the bridge of his nose is 'perfect' and will not stop him from taking Jorge Linares' WBC world lightweight title on Saturday night - live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Three-weight world champion Linares is expected to provide Mitchell with the toughest night of his career and there was concern when Mitchell suffered the injury in sparring in Texas last month - but the 30-year-old has revealed it's a minor old wound that won't affect him on the night.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ following a public workout in Covent Garden, Mitchell said: "I picked it up in sparring with Ricky about a year ago. It was before the Wembley show. It was the week before the fight and we were touch-sparring and he threw a right hand over that cut me slightly.
