The Puerto Rican, four division World Champion, Miguel Angel Cotto, is putting the final touches for the clash that will held with Australian former World Champion Daniel Geale, June 6 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Cotto is in the final stage of the extraordinary preparation that has taken on the orders of the multi award-winning trainer Freddie Roach, at his camp in Los Angeles, California.
His sparring partner and former rival, Alfonso Gomez, stressed the great preparation that the Puerto Rican has had for his first defense of his World Boxing Council Middleweight Championship.
"Geale has a style similar to mine, but definitely Cotto has gained a very strong punch and has good aim. The difference, as I said before, is its precision. We are seeing a great Miguel Cotto," Gomez told ESPN Deportes.
Meanwhile Gavin McMillan, the Puerto Rican's trainer, said that on June 6, we will see a better version of Miguel Cotto.
"It's that he's faster, stronger... He's focused and looks great in a week we will be in New York and there we will only make final adjustments. He is a much improved version of Cotto we are used to seeing," said McMillan .
Within hours Cotto will offer a session open to the media workout from the gym Wild Card Boxing Club in Los Angeles. Friday will be closing its preparation and on Saturday he will travel with his team to New York.
