Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua Vows To Break Johnson Bit By Bit

Anthony Joshua has vowed to concentrate on his own game ahead of his heavyweight meeting with Kevin Johnson at the O2 Arena on Saturday.

Having dispatched Raphael Zumbano Love last time out, Joshua, 25, is expecting a tougher test against 'Kingpin' Johnson, who is a former heavyweight challenger and went the distance with Vitali Klitschko in 2009.

THats the spirit son. Not that Johnson is that good in reality. Fury sure made him look ordinary, like im sure you will.

The guy who beat Price twice would be a better opponent though for sure, but johnson is good for this stage no doubt. Might take you 6 rounds or so. Or even the distance which he likely will.

        Joshua vs Johnson

This fight will go the distance.Johnson
Is a durable fighter.Joshua does not tick all the boxes. He has power and size.He lacks speed and lateral movement. He is not complete package. Can he take a shot? Can he
Go the distance? To be champ you
Have to be the complete package.
David Haye is the Uk's best heavyweight by far.

Unlikely. Johnson's punch output is abysmal - as soon as Joshua unloads, he'll back up against the ropes and the referee will jump in.

As for the David Haye comment - you may be right - but the guy hasn't fought in years. That's unlikely to change anytime soon.

I wish people would stop throwing the line 'Johnson went the distance with Vitali' as some kind of validation of his ability. He's a nobody, he really is. Vitali scarcely broke a sweat.

This fight, IMO, does little for Joshua. Johnson will throw next to nothing back and, further, won't take the centre of the ring.

It may give Joshua some rounds, but he'd likely exert more energy in sparring anyway. This fight is no more than a prospect versus a slow moving punchbag.

I agree. People talk a lot about Johnson haven't been stopped. Well, when has he fought someone who throws mean combinations with deadly intentions like Joshua no doubt will? Never. He was boxed by Fury and Vitali and Chisora can't punch.

Solid chin, sure. But I'd a lot more surprised if it goes the distance as opposed to stopping early.

And I don't think it would have been different at any stage in Johnson's career.

People are saying Peter Fury will be in his corner. Very interesting!

Not looking forward to the Sky commentators trying to sell Johnson as some beast.
