How is a guy that has been fighting in U.S. for sometime being compared to a debutant a real comparison? Comparing debut #s is more like it.

A tricky southpaw who punches from odd angles is Kessler's nightmare. Kessler is a straight up and down fighter - nothing special and no ability to adjust. He has zero clue with how to deal with that kind of style. DeGale would embarrass him, prime or not.

The only southpaw that ever troubled Kessler was Calzaghe. And I know you're not trying to say Degale is on that level.

Every other southpaw Kessler faced like Magee or Beyer or whatever their names were, were all left on the floor within 3 rounds.

What is this notion that Degale is tricky? Tricky how? What does he do that's tricky? He can't throw a straight punch to save his life and his hooks are far too wide. Seriously, a prime Kessler would murder him. The ramrod jab that came in 3s and 4s followed up by a serious one-punch lights out left-hook or right hand... And he was relentless. Would also decapitate Degale with uppercuts on the inside.

People forget that when Kessler was at his peak, he had one of the best 1-2s in the game. That's not just me saying it. I remember Antonio Tarver saying it as well.

Kessler moved well in his younger days. He was never the robot some people are trying to make out.

Magee and Bayer

Andre Ward switched hit if I remember correctly. Used angles and lateral movement. Kessler is straight ahead fighter, he can't deal with the kind of tricks DeGale has up his sleeve.

I've said all along he'd beat a "Prime Kessler" who didn't even do anything that great. He beat fighters who were straight in front of him or just complete bums.

Calzaghe and Ward are styles which were the most similar to DeGale's and he got embarrassed. It's just a poor style match for him. Both DeGale and Dirrell beat him now and in his so called prime.
