Comments Thread For: DeGale Eyes Golovkin, Kessler, Groves and Froch

JAMES DEGALE has already achieved one dream - now he has his eyes on another.

He carved out a slice of history after being crowned the IBF super middleweight world champ following a gripping battle with Andre Dirrell.

DeGale won a unanimous points decision and went bonkers after becoming the first ever Brit to win an Olympic gold and a world title.

The Londoner returns home today a hero and next he wants to pack out Wembley or the O2.

Degale riding high after his win. Suggest he fights all 4 in the one night and he'd probably say he'd do it haha.

If Groves can beat Jack then a huge unification would take place here in the UK. The rematch would sell itself

I'd actually like to see Degale vs Kessler if the latter isn't retired.

You're gonna judge Degale on him fighting someone who will not have been in a ring for at least 2 and a half years by the time the fight happens? Shouldn't Kessler at least be permitted a couple of tune up fights like Ward?
I don't see Kessler coming out of retirement and if by some strange turn of events he was to do so, I would not expect him to travel for a fight.

People should really stop talking about Kessler as if he is still an active fighter. The guy is retired and is not even ranked anymore.

To gauge Degale's level, Dirrell was perfect.

Nobody knows how age/inactivity has affected Kessler.

Even Groves, and Froch himself, would be a better gauge on where Degale is at.

I don't think Degale vs Kessler would be a smart fight to make. He doesn't have the power and strength to keep Kessler away for 12 rounds like Froch. that's assuming Kessler is somewhere near the same he was.

I think they should focus on the Groves fight, which is what I think will happen.
