nobody seems to picking up on the free wheeling de gayle was doing through the mid rnds to fight end?? struglling? burnt out? tryin for a second wind? couldnt work dirrell out? gave it his best and wasnt sure how to continue when dirrell got up? what? i had it very close AND if not for the first knockdown, i would have dirrell the clear winner. it WAS ONLY the knockdown that seperated them. nowhere near "moments from ko" he bounced straight back up.

What you talking about? Every single item and vid I've watched post fight talks about how DeGale took the late middle rounds off, every single one of them.
He came back to life in 11 and 12, and definitely won it, albeit marginally.
Dirrell is a great fighter, but he will have trouble finding opponents now: who wants to fight a guy THAT good, for little money and no belt?
He should just step in with GGG and go for it - a win there would put him right back in the picture, and he's got that Olympic loss to avenge.
          Good luck Andre.

exactly. dirrell was never hurt and degale should be glad the round ended because if he had to throw 5 more punches he would have collapsed. both are bums degale is a 3 round fighter still at the Olympic games

Chunkys not a real champion, he won a vacated belt. Anyone could have fought for that belt, but being in the right place and time, Dirrel and Degale contested it.

A good fighter is degale, but fortunate to be first brit to win Olympic gold and be a champ.

But don't show off about stopping dirrell. He isn't that good.

He was. He didn't need more than 15 more seconds. Just that would have been enough.
